July’s book will be The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry. Cora is a young widow and amateur naturalist, newly arrived in Essex, England in 1893. As she investigates the rumors of the fearsome Essex Serpent, she finds the parish vicar is also investigating the existence of the creature for very different reasons. This story explores questions of science and religion, skepticism and faith, and celebrates love in the many guises it can take.
Informal book chatter begins at 11:30 AM followed by a moderated book discussion at noon. No registration required. Visit the library's online calendar for the Zoom link. For more information, visit wpbcitylibrary.org or call 561-868-7701.
